Defining Authorizations for Running Ariba Network Transactions

By default, all SAP R/3 users are authorized to execute all Ariba Network transactions. However, if you want that only selected users must be authorized to execute these transactions, then you need to define authorizations accordingly. To define the required authorizations, a new authorization object needs to be created in SAP R/3 system and must be assigned to the RFC Communication Channel user. This user is assigned to the RFC communication channel in SAP NetWeaver PI.

In your SAP R/3 system, create an authorization object by using transaction SU21. Note: If you already have an authorization object class, then you can create the authorization object under that class. However, if you do not have an authorization object class specifically for Ariba, then first create an authorization object class (ZARB) before creating the authorization object. You must create the authorization object with the following details: • Object name - ZARIBA_RFC.
