005 : Component sap.com/AJAX-RUNTIME is part of the following usage type: BASIC; SUM SCA

SUM tool does not detects the SCA's and they are rejected when provided in the manually prepared download directory during update or upgrade with following message


Error

Rejected due to following reason(s):
• 001 : Component sap.com/AJAX-RUNTIME cannot be updated to higher release
• 005 : Component sap.com/AJAX-RUNTIME is part of the following usage type: BASIC;

Rejected due to following reason(s):
• 002 : Component sap.com/BPEM-BASE cannot be updated to higher SP level
• 005 : Component sap.com/BPEM-BASE is part of the following usage type: BPM;

Reason:

• Upgrade of system to higher release is not possible with option "Manually prepared directory" in SUM tool and it is used to apply Single Component Updates and Patches
• Update of software component to higher SP level is not possible with option "Manually prepared directory", if the software component is available in system UTL. you can only apply patch for this software component.

Solution:

If you want to update software component to higher SP level or higher release which are available in system , then please generate stack xml file use option "Stack configuration file" to update the same.

Note:

SUM--> Manual option works for only updating to higher patch levels [ex., 7.6.0 to 7.6.2] and not Support Pack higher release.
